The study and life skills children develop today will impact their lives forever. The mission of Homework Central is to assist each student in a supportive environment that promotes academic excellence, sound moral values, and high self-esteem. We accomplish this mission by building relationships with children by providing caring, competent, and consistent tutors whose focus is enriching student's lives. The need for extracurricular activity is another important part of child development. During a time when schools are cutting back on music, arts and other activities, we are filling that gap with our enrichment programs offered at Homework Central. Our volunteers are intentional about their connection with students. Every step of the way we are looking for ways to teach and build them up. A quiet study place combined with caring teachers is what children will experience at Homework Central. | Homework Central is a free after school program for students in grades 1-8, and is located at The Bridge Church. Our program is open Monday through Thursday from 3:00 until 5:00 PM. Every day, students will experience three components of Homework Central. 1) Activity time: As students arrive they are greeted with snacks and friends. Games and structured physical activity occur from 3:00-3:30 to allow children to gear up for their studies. 2) Academic time: During the next hour of Homework Central students will study subjects such as Reading, Math, Writing, Science, Social Studies, and Computers.
